Device Replacement
Easy and manufacturer-independent exchange
The usage of devices with PA Profil 4 and corresponding FDI Profile package enables a simplified, faster, and less error-prone workflow for device replacement, even if an instrument from supplier A is replaced through an instrument from supplier B.
Therefore, the new device has just to be connected at the same port, like the former one.
Even the core configuration of the former instrument can be used and downloaded to the new device.
Compared to 4...20 mA with HART, the complex workflow for device replacement with more than ten steps is reduced to maximum four:
- Check label for 2-WISE approval in case of hazardous area applications
- Re-calculation of the Ex-proof in case of replacement with a different device type
- Connect the two Ethernet-APL wires (not polarity-sensitive) as well as shield - device will be detected
- Measuring value communicated automatically
- Download former parameter set with FDI package for PA Profile 4 device (already installed) within seconds
- Use harmonized remedy information if necessary to resolve issues faster
