This year, HANNOVER MESSE is following a new trade fair concept that brings together the fields of automation and digitalization.
PI/PROFIBUS & PROFINET will therefore be represented for the first time in the Automation Hall 27, at booth D37. Here, visitors can experience innovative PI technologies, networked industrial processes, and modern automation solutions live.

Auf dem PI-Gemeinschaftsstand werden die Themen PROFINET, PROFIBUS, IO-Link, PROFIsafe sowie PROFIdrive, omlox, MTP und Industrie 4.0 relevante Themen im Rahmen von herstellerübergreifenden Technologie-Präsenationen sowie individuellen Einzelpräsentationen dargestellt.
Weiterhin werden Industrie 4.0 relevante Themen wie OPC UA, TSN und Security anhand von Live-Demos präsentiert.
At PI-joint booth the topics PROFINET, PROFIBUS, IO-Link, PROFIsafe as well as PROFIdrive, omlox, MTP and Industrie 4.0 relevant topics will be shown as part of multi-vendor technology presentations and various companies participate with individual Company Kiosks.
Furthermore Industrie 4.0 relevant topics like OPC UA, TSN and Security will be presented in the form of live-demos.
Highlights 2026
Ein besonderes Highlight ist der neue Hochgeschwindigkeits-Showcase, der live demonstriert, wie PROFINET und PROFIsafe in perfekter Synchronisation mit einem Ball spielen. Dabei arbeiten in höchster Präzision ein Knickarmroboter, dessen Motoren mit PROFINET IRT und PROFIdrive-Profil gesteuert werden, das Transportsystem und Werkstück- Shuttles zusammen.
Außerdem werden erstmals Standführungen angeboten. Zweimal täglich – um 11 und 14 Uhr – wird dabei ein kompakter Überblick über das Technologie-Portfolio von PI gegeben. Die Führungen vermitteln erste Einblicke in die PI-Technologien und sind ohne Voranmeldung zugänglich.
Praxisnahe Technologiedemos zeigen außerdem, wie PI-Standards innovative Anwendungen ermöglichen. Ob High-Motion- Anwendungen oder die Integration von zusätzlichen Informationen aus Antrieb oder Kameras - die zuverlässige Bereitstellung von Daten ist das A und O für innovative und spannende Anwendungen. Wie dies in der Praxis umgesetzt wird, wird in den Technologiedemos auf der Hannover Messe sichtbar.
So beweisen die IO-Link-Demos, dass der Anschluss auf den letzten Metern ganz unkompliziert gelöst werden kann, und zwar auch „wireless“, safety oder angebunden an die Cloud. Und die neue MTP-Demo zeigt eindrucksvoll, wie der modulare Anlagenbau die Prozessindustrie beflügelt.
Highlights 2026
A special highlight is the new high-speed showcase, which demonstrates live how PROFINET and PROFIsafe play with a ball in perfect synchronization. An articulated robot whose motors are controlled with PROFINET IRT and PROFIdrive profile, the transport system and workpiece shuttles work together with the highest precision.
For the first time, stand guides are also offered. Twice a day - at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. - a compact overview of PI's technology portfolio will be provided. The guided tours provide a first insight into PI technologies and are accessible without prior registration.
Practical technology demonstrations will also show how PI standards enable innovative applications. Whether high-motion applications or the integration of additional information from drives or cameras - the reliable provision of data is essential for innovative and exciting applications.
The technology demonstrations at the Hannover Messe show how this is implemented in practice. For example, the IO-Link demos prove that the connection over the last few meters can be solved very easily, even wirelessly, securely or with a connection to the cloud. And the new MTP demo impressively shows how modular plant engineering is inspiring the process industry.
