– As the central theme of SPS 2026, automation is showcased in collaboration with solutions from drive technology, sensor technology, software, and industrial communication, demonstrating its role in shaping the future. Exhibitors present innovative solutions for automation, intelligent networking, artificial intelligence, and the digital transformation of production and energy systems under this focus topic.
The Cyber Resilience Act and its requirements are a special focus this year. SPS provides the right setting for this, bringing you into direct dialogue with experts.

PI Gemeinschaftstand auf der SPS
Im Fokus des PI Gemeinschaftstandes stehen fünf Themen: SPE, APL, Security, vertikale Integration und Industrial AI – von durchgängiger Ethernet-Kommunikation bis in die Feldebene über sichere Anlagenkommunikation bis hin zu KI-gestützter Automatisierung.
Zusätzlich werden am Stand PROFINET, PROFIBUS, IO-Link, PROFIsafe, PROFIdrive, omlox, MTP, SRCI, NOA sowie OPC UA und TSN in herstellerübergreifenden und individuellen Präsentationen live vorgeführt.
PI Joint Booth at SPS
The PI joint booth focuses on five topics: SPE, APL, Security, Vertical Integration, and Industrial AI. These topics range from end-to-end Ethernet communication and secure plant communication to AI-powered automation.
PROFINET, PROFIBUS, IO-Link, PROFIsafe, PROFIdrive, omlox, MTP, SRCI, NOA, OPC UA, and TSN will also be demonstrated live at the booth in vendor-neutral and customized presentations.
Hinweis: Zur Hannover Messe 2026 wurde ein neues Standdesign eingeführt. Dieses wird auch für die SPS übernommen. Beispielhaft werden hier Bilder des neuen Standes auf der Hannover Messe gezeigt.

Highlights 2026
Im Fokus stehen fünf Themen: SPE, APL, Security, Vertikale Integration und Industrial AI – von durchgängiger Ethernet-Kommunikation bis in die Feldebene über sichere Anlagenkommunikation bis hin zu KI-gestützter Automatisierung.
Ein besonderes Highlight ist der neue Hochgeschwindigkeits-Showcase. Er demonstriert live, wie PROFINET und PROFIsafe in perfekter Synchronisation mit einem Ball spielen. Dabei arbeiten ein Knickarmroboter, dessen Motoren mit PROFINET IRT und PROFIdrive-Profil gesteuert werden, sowie das Transportsystem und Werkstück-Shuttles mit höchster Präzision zusammen.
Auch dieses Jahr werden wieder Standführungen angeboten, die zweimal täglich um 11 und 14 Uhr stattfinden. Sie bieten einen kompakten Überblick über das Technologie-Portfolio von PI und geben erste Einblicke in die PI-Technologien – und das ganz ohne Voranmeldung.
Ob High-Motion-Anwendungen oder die Integration zusätzlicher Informationen aus Antrieben oder Kameras: Die zuverlässige Bereitstellung von Daten ist das A und O für innovative Anwendungen. Wie PI-Standards das in der Praxis ermöglichen, zeigen die Technologiedemos: Die IO-Link-Demos beweisen, dass der Anschluss auf den letzten Metern unkompliziert gelöst werden kann – auch drahtlos, sicherheitsrelevant oder cloudbasiert. Die neue MTP-Demo zeigt eindrucksvoll, wie modularer Anlagenbau die Prozessindustrie beflügelt.
Highlights 2026
The focus is on five topics: SPE, APL, Security, Vertical Integration, and Industrial AI. These topics range from end-to-end Ethernet communication and secure plant communication to AI-powered automation.
A special highlight is the new high-speed showcase. It demonstrates how PROFINET and PROFIsafe work in perfect synchronization with a ball. An articulated-arm robot, whose motors are controlled using PROFINET IRT and the PROFIdrive profile, works with the transport system and workpiece shuttles with the highest precision.
Guided tours of the booth will be offered twice daily, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., providing a concise overview of PI’s technology portfolio and initial insights into PI technologies, with no advance registration required.
Reliable data provision is essential for innovative applications, whether for high-motion applications or the integration of additional information from drives or cameras. The technology demonstrations show how PI standards make this possible in practice. The IO-Link demos prove that connectivity over the last few meters can easily be achieved, whether wirelessly for safety-critical applications or via the cloud. The new MTP demo shows how modular plant engineering is driving innovation in the process industry.
